01 / CLEAR COMMUNICATION

When Success Demands
Clear, Complete Communication

THE EMAIL TRADITION

Traditional Email Falls Short

Email is familiar. Keeping a complete business conversation together is not its strong point.

  • Replies branch into separate threads.
  • Changing subjects split related discussions.
  • Decisions become scattered across mailboxes and attachments.
  • Reconstructing the record becomes a forensics project.
A BETTER PLACE FOR THE WORK

PChannel: Your Escape
from Email Hell

Give each conversation a defined audience, a durable Topic, and a local record.

  • Topics preserve the context of the discussion.
  • Channel membership defines the audience. Replies remain within that Channel’s defined audience; check the membership before sharing.
  • Replies remain connected to the Messages they answer.
  • Correspondence is retained on participants’ computers. Compare custody with email.
  • The Relay provides temporary transport custody rather than a long-term conversation archive.

02 / ACCOUNTABILITY & PROTECTION
DELIVERY ACCOUNTABILITY

Receipt by the app.
A record of custody.

Some conditions, such as a recipient’s computer remaining offline for an extended period, can prevent delivery.

PChannel’s design commitment is a complete delivery record: who has received each Message, whose delivery is still pending, and what needs your attention.

Signed recipient custody confirms that the receiving app validated and stored the Message, not human reading, approval, or business acceptance.

Complete retry, expiration recovery, and recipient-level reporting must still be verified before being claimed as alpha guarantees.

How Delivery Is Confirmed
CURRENT ALPHA

Clear About Security

PChannel Alpha combines signed message packages, Channel authorization, and HTTPS transport.

End-to-end content encryption is planned but is not yet implemented in PChannel Alpha.

PChannel’s design goal is to bring structured conversations, participant authorization, local records, and message protection into one coherent workflow.

How Channels Work

A Channel defines the authorized participants. Topics organize the subjects under discussion, and replies remain connected to their parent Messages.

Participants retain correspondence locally; the Relay temporarily holds packages for retrieval rather than serving as a long-term conversation archive.

DELIVERY / SIGNED EVIDENCE

How Delivery Is Confirmed

When the PChannel app receives a Message from the Relay, it validates and stores the Message, then returns a signed custody receipt to the Relay. The Relay forwards that receipt to the sender’s app, which uses it to confirm delivery for that recipient. Note that this is not a 'read-receipt'; this confirms receipt by the app, not reading by a person.

The intended delivery-accountability model tracks every authorized recipient separately and keeps unresolved deliveries visible.

Alpha boundary: Complete retry, expiration recovery, and recipient-level reporting must be verified before this commitment is presented as a current alpha guarantee.

SECURITY / CURRENT ALPHA

Security in the Current Alpha

In the current Alpha release, digital signatures provide evidence of authenticity and integrity. Channel authorization governs participation, and HTTPS protects network connections.

End-to-end content encryption is planned. The encryption method is currently being worked out.

Email, with some configuration effort, can also support end-to-end protection through systems such as S/MIME. PChannel’s goal is a simple, integrated workflow, rather than a claim to have invented message encryption.

The current alpha does not provide end-to-end content encryption. Consequently, its message content is not cryptographically concealed from the Relay merely because the Relay treats packages as opaque data.
